Loughborough University: Computacenter confirmed as Lightning Wheelchair Basketball’s headline sponsor
George Bates’ side are currently unbeaten in the inaugural BWB Women’s Premier League – the first Para sport league in the UK – having won their opening two fixtures.
The sponsorship will see Computacenter integrate with the team and coaching staff to benefit from their expert knowledge and inspirational athletes.
Loughborough University and Computacenter have a long-standing partnership with the Hatfield headquartered business also supporting Loughborough Lightning Rugby, the Men’s Performance rugby union team, and Loughborough Lightning Netball.
Jo Simpson, Commercial and Facilities Director, Loughborough Sport said:
“As the sector leader in Para sport, we are honoured to be a founding team in the new BWB Women’s Premier League. Our integration makes a global statement about our commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
“For Computacenter to support our vision by being the first organisation to sponsor a team in the league is a huge moment for our relationship and for them as a brand.
“Our values define everything that we do, and I am incredibly proud to work with an organisation so closely aligned to our mission.
“This sponsorship is a key pillar of our ongoing and deepening relationship, and I am very much looking forward to seeing everything that we will achieve together.”
Neil Hall, Managing Director, UK & Ireland said:
“I am delighted to confirm that we are expanding our relationship with Loughborough University, adding Wheelchair Basketball to our supported sports. Computacenter is committed to creating an environment where every individual can thrive and succeed, irrespective of ability or disability.
“We know through our years in partnership with Loughborough University that this is a passion we have in common. We’re proud to continue to invest in the next generation of UK talent and look forward to the opportunities we can create together.”
