Loughborough University’s End of Year Show Spotlights Architecture Students

The show promises a glimpse into the creative minds of tomorrow’s architects, tackling themes ranging from individual identity to sustainable practices.

The exhibition showcases student work across all levels, with projects reflecting themes of ‘Identity’ ‘Community’ and ‘Diversity’. Part A students delve into the concept of ‘Identity’ through the ‘Home’ project, designing bespoke home-workshops for unique fictional characters. Part B explores the concept of ‘Community’ with the ‘Inclusion/Exclusion in the City’ project, where students reimagine libraries as hubs of social engagement within Liverpool.

Part C allows students to explore their own design interests within themed research labs. Labs delve into topics like Architecture in the Anthropocene Age, Care in Design, and Prototype Development.

The show isn’t just about design skills, but also entrepreneurial spirit. Master’s students explore the theme of ‘Architect Entrepreneur’, critically examining the role of architects in society. This year’s projects focus on Bucharest, Romania, with a focus on sustainable practices and disrupting unsustainable consumption.

Loughborough University invites the community to celebrate the innovative ideas and dedication of its students, all working towards designing a better future.
