Jalandhar: Those were indeed great moments for presently roaring entrepreneur and Founder CEO of sabpossible.com Ritesh Vatts; Girish Kumar (MPA 2014 Batch) who is a bollywood actor and has acted in Aamir Khan’s movie ‘Dangal’; Gurpreet Kaur (M.Ed 2014 Batch) who has recently been crowned as Mrs Punjab; and, hundreds of other alumni of Lovely Professional University (LPU) when they reunited with one another in Jalandhar, along with their family members, on the launching of LPU Jalandhar Alumni Chapter. Gathered alumni recounted their life spent at LPU and shared their past and present experiences with one another and senior LPU officials, which re-connected them to their university. Full of deep seated emotions, alumni shared about their respective class rooms; sports ground where they used to play different games; hostel rooms where they lived home like life; talked about their mentors and teachers who shaped them to be truly global citizens; and, relived varied experiential moments of meaningful and fun-filled days spent at their alma mater- LPU.

In fact, Alumni Association of Lovely Professional University (LPUAA) keeps on organising reunions of LPU alumni of different batches at top cities, not only of India but also of different countries including the US, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Bhutan, Bangladesh. LPU alumni either entrepreneurs or working at coveted posts in top-notch companies including Google, Microsoft, Cognizant, Accenture, TCS, HCL and other MNCs, gather to relive time spent at LPU Campus. University being situated in Jalandhar region, LPU always had its Jalandhar alumni meet at the campus itself; however, continuously increasing strength of Jalandhar based alumni necessitated LPU to launch its separate Jalandhar Alumni Chapter with recent organization of its maiden reunion at Hotel Kings of the city. Senior Administrators from different divisions of LPU including Dr Hema Sharda, Prof Dr Rajesh Verma, Dean Dr Sorabh Lakhanpal greeted and addressed 300+ LPU alumni of different batches since 2006 and their family members.

On this occasion, annual elections for key positions of Jalandhar Alumni Chapter were also held. All of the Jalandhar region alumni took active part in election processes and those who could not come from far off places also voted online from other cities and countries as well. LPU alumnus, Balpreet Singh Sandhu (B Tech ECE 2010 Batch) has been elected President of Jalandhar Chapter unanimously. Pratyush (B Tech Mech Engg 2017 Batch), who is working at Fleetomoto, has been elected Vice President. LPUAA keeps alumni ever connected to their alma mater through reunions, events, guest lectures and networking opportunities. Association also endeavours to bring alumni community together to support its members through ‘self-help’ within community. It also keeps alumni updated and informed about activities and achievements at the University. In turn, informed and interested alumni bring added strength to the university in pursuit of excellence. LPUAA has created many Alumni Chapters in India as well as abroad to let alumni contribute to LPU vision of being leading university in academics, research, excellence and innovation.
