LPU Student bagged Gold-Medal in Shooting Championship

 

Jalandhar: One of the MBA students of Lovely Professional University (LPU) Amanpreet Singh has once again proved his mettle by bagging Gold medal in 25 meter ‘Standard Pistol’ event during XVII Kumar Surendra Singh Memorial Shooting Championship- 2017. The seven day competition was held in New Delhi under the aegis of ‘the National Rifle Association of India’. This feat of Amanpreet is incredibly remarkable as he has secured the top spot amongst galaxy of international shooters like Mahaveer Singh, Deepak Sharma and Olympian Vijay Kumar. Illustrative, Amanpreet won ahead of Mahaveer Singh, after both of the shooters were tied on the score of 572.
Prior to this, Amanpreet Singh has also brought laurels for the country and to the university by winning first position in the team event of 50 meter Pistol event (Men) during 48th Grand Prix of Liberation Plzeň (Czech Republic) 2017. Two ace international shooters of India, Jitu Rai and PN Prakash were the team members with Amanpreet, who managed to secure joint score of 1658 and bagged the first position. Amanpreet and his team members defeated the strong teams of Russia and Germany. This achievement of Amanpreet has been shortly after his silver medal winning at ISSF shooting world cup held in New Delhi in the month of March this year only.
