M.M. Hall organizes Annual Function

Aligarh : Professor Naima Khatoon, Vice Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), said that AMU is known for its quality education, and culture and traditions, which is reflected in the Sir Syed Day and annual residential hall functions. Addressing the students at the annual function of Mohsin Mulk (MM) Hall, the Vice Chancellor said such programmes demand good management skills which you exhibited by organizing a splendid function.

Presiding over the programme, Professor Naima Khatoon said “every staff member of the University and the infrastructure is for the welfare and betterment of the students and I am dedicated to improve the education system and the facilities here”.

“All the suitable measures are being taken to ensure that the students do not face any problem in accommodation and quality food supply”, she said.

The Vice Chancellor also congratulated the Provost of the Hall Professor Mohd. Ali Jauhar and his team for good arrangements.

Earlier, Prof. Mohd Ali Jauhar welcomed the Vice Chancellor, adding that the University will grow in leaps and bounds during her tenure and students will get many new and better facilities.

The Chief Guest of the event, Professor Mohammad Gulrez said education is the means to achieve success and serve the society. He called on the students to devote time and energy towards achieving their goals and making their parents and the country proud.

The Guest of Honour, Prof. Asfar Ali Khan, Director, School Education, AMU said attending the Hall function fills one with energy and revives the memories of students’ days.

The other Guest of Honour Prof Mohd. Mohsin Khan, Finance Officer, AMU said life is all about gaining knowledge and taking action. Exhorting the students he said: If you want to succeed in life, never run away from hard work.

AMU alumnus Mr. Taj Alam, Director, King International Limited, Kanpur shared anecdotes from his students’ days and exhorted the students not to waste their time and energy in meaningless activities.

Prof. Arshad Hussain also advised the students to remain proactive and productive.

A wide range of cultural activities were part of the hall function.

Mr. Parvez Kha, Senior Hall presented the annual report. Several students were felicitated for their cultural and academic performances, while the post holders of the Hall were presented with mementoes.

The function ended with a vote of thanks by Dr Bashir Hasan, General Warden of the Hall.
