The Ma Foi Foundation and Tech Mahindra Foundation join hands for the launch of Smart centre in Avadi

Chennai: The Ma Foi Foundation, a CSR division of Ma Foi Group in association with Tech Mahindra Foundation today announced the inauguration of Smart Centre at Avadi to offer employability skill training program in BFSI sector. The smart centre was inaugurated by Mr. RM. Meenakshi Sundaram, President, Corporate Banking, Lakshmi Vilas Bank in the presence of Mr. K. Pandia Rajan, Founder, Ma Foi group, senior management from Tech Mahindra Foundation and The Ma Foi Foundation.

Aligned with the central government’s National Skill Development initiative, the smart centre aims to train over 150 NSDC certified skilled talents in 12 months in BFSI sector and equip them to take up job roles such as Business Correspondent, Business facilitator and Micro Finance Executive. With six batches consisting of 25 students each, this two months program offers students real time work experience, rigorous training and assessment.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Aathi, Director of Ma Foi Academy said “The concept of Ma Foi Academy under The Ma Foi Foundation was introduced last year to not only produce industry ready talents but to also sharpen the skills of existing professionals which is a major concern across the regions. We are very happy to associate with Tech Mahindra Foundation to launch this unique Smart Centre in Avadi.”

Mrs.Latha Pandiarajan, Managing Trustee of The Ma Foi Foundationsaid “Avadi enjoys a greater level of educated youth compared to other parts of Chennai and Tamil Nadu. However, there is always a need for skilling to make them competitive and productive right from day one. I am confident this initiative will surely benefit the youth in and around Avadi.”

The program covers training and mentoring students in areas like Basic English, Basic computer skills, Workplace preparedness and basic communication.
