Machinery Mela Organized at Ganderbal

Ganderbal: The Department of Horticulture, District Ganderbal organized a Machinery Mela cum awareness programme today at Tehsilbagh, Lar, Ganderbal.
During the mela, farmers were informed about various departmental schemes and printed material in the form of booklets was distributed among the growers.
As many as 100 fruit growers attended the mela in which various type of farm machinery was displayed by traders.
On the occasion, the machinery worth Rs 30 lakh was purchased by the registered fruit growers, for which a back ended assistance of approximately Rs 10 lakh will be released on fast track basis.
Chief Horticulture officer informed the gathering that such melas will be organized for the fruit growers in other horticulture blocks as well.The farmers were also informed about various aspects of horticulture entrepreneurship programme.
