Macquarie University introduces Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science program to create a trained workforce fit for future health and fitness professions
Delhi: Macquarie University, ranked among the top 1% of universities worldwide, is proud to announce the launch of its new, future-ready course in Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science for undergraduate students. Offered by the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences, the program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the global competitive sports landscape with invaluable practical experience to significantly impact various professional fields.
The Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science, a three-year degree program, will allow students an extensive exploration of diverse disciplines crucial to the field. Throughout their studies, students will engage in topics such as human anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, nutrition, sports psychology, exercise rehabilitation, and fitness, to develop a comprehensive understanding of exercise and sports science. With a faculty comprised of experienced industry leaders, students will receive exceptional guidance and mentorship, ensuring a rich learning experience. To enhance practical skills and industry readiness, students will have the opportunity to undertake internships with esteemed partner organizations.
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will emerge as highly skilled professionals, ready to embark on exciting career paths, equipped with a comprehensive understanding of exercise and sports science. Roles such as Sports Performance Analyst, Exercise Physiologists, Strength and Conditioning Coaches, Sports Nutrition Consultants, and many others will be readily available for the pass-outs. The versatility of their expertise will open doors to opportunities in diverse settings, including private practice, hospitals, gyms, aged care facilities, government agencies, and sports teams. This degree was awarded qualifying accreditation in 2022 and will be considered for full accreditation in 2023/2024.
