Madhya Pradesh bags 3 national awards under Sakshar Bharat Yojana
Bhopal : Madhya Pradesh has bagged three national-level awards under the Sakshar Bharat Yojana. Vice-President Shri Venkaiah Naidu will give away the awards to the state’s officials on the occasion of World Literacy Day on September 8 at New Delhi.
Rajya Shiksha Kendra, School Education Department has bagged the award for Best State in the form of State Literacy Mission Authority. Best District award was bagged by Zila Lok Shiksha Samiti, Tikamgarh and State Resource Centre, Indore has been selected for the Best State Resource Centre award.
The awards will be given away to Director of Rajya Shiksha Kendra Shri Lokesh Jatav and other officials at a ceremony to be organised at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi by Vice-President Shri Naidu and Human Resource Development Minister Shri Prakash Javdekar.
Madhya Pradesh has been selected to be awarded for outstanding performance of district and state resource centre under Sakshar Bharat Yojana in year 2016-17 by the Department of School Education and Literacy under Ministry of Human Resource Development.
It may be noted that more than 24 lakh 61 thousand adult illiterates of Madhya Pradesh have acquired success in literacy examination after training in year 2016-17. Nearly 24 thousand adult illiterates have emerged as new-literates in 31 Sansad Adarsh Grams of the state.
