Madhya Pradesh becomes first state of the country for delivering Mid-Day Meal door to door
Rs. 117 crore transferred online to parents of over 66 lakh children
Bhopal : Amidst Corona crisis, an amount of Rs. 117 crore has been transferred online by the state government in the bank accounts of the parents of total 66 lakh 27 thousand students of primary and middle school. At the same time, ration of mid-day meal has already been delivered at the doorsteps of 56 lakh 87 thousand children. The Additional Chief Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development Shri Manoj Shrivastava has said that it has been informed in the review meeting of the Government of India that Madhya Pradesh has become first state in the country for delivering door to door ration of Mid-Day meal.
The Additional Secretary further informed that amidst the Corona crisis and lockdown, the amount of food security allowance was transferred through NIC on March 29 by the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the bank accounts of children’s parents. This amount has been received by all the parents.
Distribution of door to door mid-day meal ration
Moreover, Shri Shirvastava said that when the schools were closed in the month of April, the help of aaganwadi workers, representatives of Panchayats and local teachers was received to deliver ration of mid-day meal at the doorsteps of the children. The Government of India has lauded the successful innovative efforts in the execution of the Mid-Day meal Scheme in Madhya Pradesh, he added.
