Madhya Pradesh now ranks 16th in active Corona patients

Bhopal : Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Madhya Pradesh ranked at 16th position comparatively in active cases of Corona in the country. The number of active patients in the state is 8716. Initially, the number of active patients was continuously decreasing in Madhya Pradesh, but in the last few days, the number of active patients increased rapidly in the whole country as well as in Madhya Pradesh. Now, compared to new positive patients, the number of patients recovering and returning home has increased and the number of active patients has started declining in the state, which is a positive indication. Today, 838 Corona patients recovered and returned home and 830 new patients were found in the state. Our recovery rate is 73.6 percent.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed the Health Department to issue a detailed guide line for “home isolation” of patients without symptoms and “home quarantine” of suspected patients, so that those who have enough space at home and who voluntarily prefer “home isolation” or “home quarantine”, can be helped.

100 -year old woman defeats Corona

Saluting the courage of Smt. Rukmani Devi, wife of Khushal Chouhan from Khargone district during a video conference, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that if she can defeat Corona despite suffering from cancer, why can’t we? The need is to ensure timely treatment and show courage. Rukmani Devi, resident of Surana Nagar of Barwah in the district, was tested Corona positive on July 21st . She was also suffering from ‘Ovarian cancer’. Rukmani Devi was kept under “home isolation’’ and treated under the supervision of doctors. In this period, Rukmani Devi also continued to practice yoga, pranayam. Rukmani Devi defeated Corona with the right treatment, regular routine and self-confidence. She is an inspiration to all of us.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that now the lockdown will be imposed only once a week i.e. on Sunday and the night curfew will be from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Under special circumstances, any other action regarding lockdown can be taken in the districts only with the permission from the state level.

Increase testing, spread awareness

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Corona is not an incurable disease and patients can recover if they are brought to the hospital in time. It can be fatal if brought to the hospital late. For this, testing facility needs to be increased, so that the disease can be detected in time. Our testing as of now is 10294 per 10 lakh population. Along with this it is also necessary that the public is made aware that if a patient shows symptoms of Corona, he/she should be brought to the hospital immediately. Under no circumstances should this be delayed.

Efforts must to minimize death rate

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed that efforts should be made to minimize death rate by ensuring best treatment in all Covid hospitals. At present, Corona death rate of the state is 4.32 percent. Advice must be sought from non-governmental subject experts on how to reduce the death rate of Corona.

Seven Corona squads functioning

During the review of Gwalior district, it was told that the positivity rate in the last one week is 10 percent. Challan worth Rs 22 lakh has been imposed for not wearing masks etc. Rs 100 per person is being charged as fine for not wearing mask. They are also given free masks. Seven Corona squads are functioning by dividing the city into 7 regions.

Make all efforts to prevent infection in jails

In the video conference, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Corona infection has increased in the jails of the state in the last 15 days, so far about 137 prisoners have been found infected in the jails. He issued instructions to the DG Jail that every effort should be made to prevent spread of Corona infection in the jails. Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra informed that virtual arrangements have been made for meeting of relatives with prisoners in jails. Apart from this, proper arrangements are also being made for their testing and quarantine. Due to less space in Singrauli jail, separate arrangements are also being made in other places.

More than 50 thousand people penalized

Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra told in a video conference that action was taken on August 5 against 7 thousand 828 people for not wearing face masks in public places and 5045 persons were fined for violation of social distancing norms under the “Kill Corona Campaign Phase-II. Till now more than 50 thousand people have been fined in the state.

Maximum patients in four districts

ACS Health Shri Mohammad Suleman said that the four districts of the state including Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior and Jabalpur have the highest number of Corona patients. Today, 157,155, 89 and 77 new patients have been found in these districts respectively. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed that special attention must be paid to these four districts.
