Madhya Pradesh ready for Asian and World Cup Shooting Competition –Minister Patwari
Bhopal : Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Jitu Patwari said that Madhya Pradesh is ready to host the Asian and World Cup Shooting Competition. He told that the Madhya Pradesh Academy tops in international standards. Shri Patwari was inaugurating the 63rd National Shooting competition at Shooting Academy in Goregaon.
Minister Shri Patwari said that it is a matter of pride for us that Chinky Yadav and Aishwarya Pratap Singh of Madhya Pradesh Shooting Academy have obtained Olympic quota. He said that the government will extend all possible help to promote shooting players and develop this game even more. Shri Patwari said that it will be our endeavour that 10 players of Madhya Pradesh Shooting Academy should obtain Olympic quota in the next Olympics. The Sports and Youth Welfare Minister assured the players taking part in the competition to establish direct contact with him or Director Sports if there is any shortcoming during the competition.
Director Sports and Youth Welfare Dr. S. L. Thausen told that about 7 thousand 472 players from all over the country are participating in this national competition which is a record. He informed that 15 shooter of the country’s Olympic quota will also give their best in this competition. Dr. Thausen said that infrastructure development activities are continuing in the Shooting Academy.
Shri Pavan Singh of National Rifle Shooting Association of India said that such a competition is being organized after nearly 50 years. All international arrangements have been made in the Shooting Academy. He said that this is the most convenient and modern shooting range in the world.
