Madhya Pradesh School Education Minister Shri Parmar launches online mental health course for teachers

Bhopal : Minister of State (Independent Charge) for School Education Shri Inder Singh Parmar launched an online mental health course series for teachers at Mantralaya. He said that the state, country as well as the world, is struggling for a long time from Corona crisis. It affects one’s mental state naturally in such a situation. It is also natural for students to be concerned about their education and future. Under such difficult circumstances, the Education Department is introducing many innovations to regularize education of children and solve their problems. In this sequence, an online mental health course is being started for teachers. This will enable teachers to develop a positive outlook in children towards education in an environment of stress and anxiety besides solving their problems apart from teaching. This course will make teachers more competent and help them in enhancing their skills. Shri Parmar said that he hopes that after undergoing this course, teachers will make effective efforts to normalize the atmosphere. Minister Shri Parmar said that this course will prove effective in overcoming anxiety, stress and depression and teachers will extend benefit of this course to maximum number of students.

Principal Secretary Smt. Rashmi Arun Shami said that it has become even more important to be mentally healthy during Covid crisis. Mental issues are increasing these days. Children are also suffering from fear and anxiety about their future. To help children overcome this state of mind, the teacher has to be more skillful and this course has been started with this aim in mind. She told that this course will be for all teachers from Class Ist to XIIth. Smt. Shami said that teachers can also benefit from the modules and tools related to this subject on the Manodarpan portal of Government of India. She told that this course will be available on Diksha app.

Commissioner Public Instruction Smt. Jaishree Kiyawat gave detailed information related to mental health course series. She told that this course is starting from August 17 on Diksha app. This course will be available for government teachers of all classes. Detailed training related to mental health will be imparted in seven sessions from August 17 to September 10 under CM Rise Digital Teachers Training. Training will be imparted on topics including introduction to mental health and management of emotions, change in thinking and anger management, mann ki vyayamshala, mental health of children, communication, management of emotions and tolerance, anger management, success-failure, self-identification and other topic regarding life.
