Madhya Pradesh: Sports competitions in Eklavya Adarsh Residential Schools from November 10

Bhopal : A programme for sports competitions in Eklavya Adarsh residential schools in the state has been announced. In the first phase, zone-level sports competitions will be held in Indore and Jabalpur from November 10 to 12. The competitions will be held in 16 individual and team events. Thereafter, the state level competitions will be held in Indore and Jabalpur on November 14 and 15.

The state-level sports competitions in Indore include athletics, band, swimming, table tennis, hockey, football, kabaddi, kho-kho, hand-ball, basket-ball, volleyball and Taekwondo. Similarly, the state level competition of wrestling, karate, archery and boxing competitions will be held in Jabalpur on November 14.

Directives have been issued by the Department of Tribal Welfare to the Deputy Commissioners of the department for organizing the competitions. The 45 Eklavya Adarsh residential schools of the state have been divided into Indore and Jabalpur zones. About 13 thousand 500 students belonging to tribal category are pursuing studies in these schools with residential accommodation.

DPR under Aasthaan Scheme

The Aasthaan scheme has been launched in the state to protect and conserve tribal culture and their places of worship. Under the scheme, a decision has been taken to build and renovate the Devgudi, Madhiya and Devthan at the sites of Kul Devata and Gram Devi-Devatas of the tribal communities. Arrangement for construction of community bhavans as well as auditorium, drinking water, bathrooms and toilets etc. are being made at these places.

Under the scheme, the Tribal Welfare department has entrusted the responsibility to 3 consultants of Young Professional to prepare a DPR by conducting an inspection of the selected places.
