Madhya Pradesh:‘Rozgar Setu’ portal facilitates permanent employment to 24862 migrant workers

Bhopal: As of July 9, as many as 24 thousand 862 migrant workers have already got permanent employment through ‘Rozgar Setu’ portal. This includes 79.5 percent males and 20.5 percent females.

It is to be mentioned that 94. 4 percent migrant workers have been provided employment by contractors/labour contractors. Similarly, 0.3 percent migrant workers by large industries, 1.2 percent by MSMEs, 0.5 percent by builders, 2.4 percent by placement agencies and 1.2 percent by other institutions have been absorbed in employment.

The Additional Chief Secretary Labour, Dr. Rajesh Rajoura has informed that job cards of 3 lakh 55 thousand 864 migrant workers have been prepared. Along with this, employment has been provided to one lakh 89 thousand 959 migrant workers under MNREGA.

Registration of 3 lakh 40 thousand 715 migrant workers, eligible under the Sambal Yojana has been done on the portal of Sambal Yojana. Similarly, as per the eligibility, the registration of 16 thousand 214 migrant workers has been done on the portal of Madhya Pradesh Bhavan evam Anya Sannirman Karmkar Mandal. This will facilitate them to avail benefit of the schemes of Sambal/Mandal. Under the Atma Nirbhar Bharat and National Food Security Act, ration is being distributed every month to 13 lakh 10 thousand 186 migrant workers.

Out of the 2 lakh 6 thousand 425 children of the migrant workers, 75 thousand 385 children aged between 6 and 14 years have been enrolled in schools. A target has been set under the ‘School Chale Hum’ campaign to give free admission to the remaining children after opening of schools.

It may be mentioned that according to the survey, during the Covid-19 pandemic, 7 lakh 30 thousand 311 migrant workers with 5 lakh 79 thousand 875 family members had returned to the state between March 01 and June 06, 2020. Thus the total number of returnees is 13 lakh 10 thousand 186. Under the Rozgar Setu Portal, 27 thousand 388 employers have registered themselves. This include, 510 large industries, 4748 MSMEs, 6526 labour contractors, 283 builders, 547 placement agencies and 1667 commercial institutions. Forty seven thousand 985 vacancies have been posted by the employers on the portal. The selection process on the basis of qualification and experience of the migrant workers is underway for appointment.
