Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that major self -employment opportunities should be created through small and cottage industries in the state. For this efficient implementation of the different schemes of Central and State government should be ensured. Positive results must come, he added.
Shri Chouhan undertook a reviews of the various activities being carried out by the Handicraft, Madhya Pradesh Khadi Tatha Gramodyog, Madhya Pradesh Clay Art Board and Skill Development departments here today. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains, Principal Secretary, Skill Development Smt Deepali Rastogi, Principal Secretary MSME Shri Manu Shrivastava and others.
Form Teams and Brainstorm
The Chief Minister stressed the need for expanding the network of small and cottage industries to create maximum possible employment opportunities. The officers should form teams and brainstorm as to how it can be achieved. Madhya Pradesh must be made pioneer in this sector, he added.
Mere Training not Sufficient
The Chief Minister said that mere imparting of training is not sufficient for establishment of different enterprises. The beneficiaries should be provided all possible assistance for establishing their units. They should also be assisted in marketing of their products. For promoting small industries schemes should be drawn up keeping in view the local needs and circumstances,
Tradition Works Be Encouraged
Shri Chouhan said that traditional occupations like black smithy, carpentry, gold smithy, mason, potter etc should be encouraged. For this, better training should be imparted and the persons engaged in these occupation should be extended full cooperation in marketing of their products.
Implement Cluster Development Programme
While reviewing the activities of MSME department the Chief Minister directed for proper implementation of the Cluster Development Programme. He said that desired work has not been done in this sector. Under this, common facility centres should be set up for the units active in the cluster and the infrastructure should be strengthen. Marketing Hubs and Exhibition Centres should be set up in districts.
Marketing Facility to Women SHGs
The Chief Minister said that that the self-help groups of women performing very well in different economic activities. He directed to set up Marketing Hubs and Exhibition Centres in districts pro help in marketing of their products. The meeting was informed that under this 60 percent of project cost (maximum Rs. 6 crore) may be obtained from GoI.
Proper Implementation of Self-employment Schemes
Shri Chouhan directed for efficient implementation of the different self-employment schemes such as Mukhya Mantri Swarojgar Yojana, Mukhya Mantri Arthik Kalyan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Srajan Karykram etc to help maximum people start their own ventures. Besides, the handloom weavers and artisans should be provided assistance under schemes of the government. Main handloom clusters include Chanderi, Maheshwar, Sarangpur, Waraseoni, Saunsar and Mandsaour.
Handloom and Handicrafts to be encouraged
The meeting was informed that under the Sfurti Yojana of GoI a leather craft special projects have been drawn up. These include leather craft project at Bamora in Morena district, stone craft project at Bhedaghat in a Jabalpur ditrict, wood craft project at Budni in Sehore district, iron craft project in Dindori district and handloom weavers project in Mandsaur. Similarly, special projects have been prepared for timber wood furniture manufacturing in Mandla and Betul districts.
