MAHE to host World Environment Day 2024 with Viva Toyota at its Bengaluru Campus

Bengaluru : Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) is proud to host the 2024 World Environment Day celebration in collaboration with Viva Toyota, on 5th of June, from 10:00 AM to 11:40 AM, at their campus in Yelahanka, Govindpura. The aim of the event is to celebrate the environmental improvement of Bengaluru followed by planting of 1000 saplings in and around the campus of MAHE by Viva Toyota and MAHE officials.

The saplings shall be planted by employees of the organizations in recognition of the importance of a greener environment. The event shall be attended by S Ramkumar (CEO, Viva Toyota), Bhaskar Banerjee (Head-Finance, Viva Toyota), Sasi Kumar (Vice President-Sales, Viva Toyota), P Senthil Kumar (Vice President-CS, Viva Toyota) and other dignitaries.

Rewilding Task Force of MAHE Bengaluru will be spearheading all the nature activities pertaining to the campus and will coordinate the programme. Other dignitaries from MAHE such as, Prof. Madhu Veeraraghavan, Pro-Vice Chancellor, MAHE, Bengaluru, Dr. Raghavendra Prabhu P, Deputy Registrar, MAHE Bengaluru and Dr Jagannath Korody, Director of MIT, MAHE Bengaluru along with HOIs from all the departments, HR Head, IT Head, other faculty members and student volunteers will be present in the event.

The day shall begin at 10:00 AM during which time dignitaries and employees shall assemble at the venue. At 10:30 AM the MAHE team shall address the gathered guests. S Ramkumar (CEO, Viva Toyota) shall address the assembled guests also, at 10:40 AM. At 10:45 AM, Bhaskar Banerjee (Head-Finance, Viva Toyota) will provide his thoughts on the importance of Environment Day. Following this, at 10:50 AM, plantation shall begin, and employees will proceed to plant the saplings in the designated area. The day shall conclude at 11:40 AM, after a group photo session beginning at 11:30 AM.

The event is being hosted as an acknowledgement of Viva Toyota’s achievements in afforestation and environment upgradation across the city of Bengaluru, as well as to encourage employees and customers, to appreciate a dedication to the natural environment of the planet.
