Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) Budgam conducts community level Awareness programme for women empowerment

BUDGAM : The Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) Budgam today organized a daylong community level Awareness programme in collaboration with Women Help Line (WHL) 181 on the theme “Say No to Suicide”at Dardpora here.

At the outset, awareness was raised among participants about various Centrally Sponsored Schemes including “LG’s SUPER 75 Scholarship” and Tejaswini-The Radiant under Mission Youth, MSK, WHL 181, OSC and BBBP.

On the occasion Women Welfare Officer (WWO), Afroza Bhat, Project Coordinator WHL-181 Bilal Bhat and District Coordinator, Asifa Manzoor briefed about the overall functioning and implementation of Schemes.

Project Coordinator WHL-181 apprised women folk that suicide is not a solution, “Break your Silence Raise your voice” if you are facing domestic violence, sexual harassment, economic and dowry disputes, etc. In this situation dial 24/7 hours Toll Free no. 181 to get access to justice, access to welfare and access to District Administration.

Afroza Bhat while speaking said that MSK is always at the door steps of all women folk to guide, help and advise them in any distress situation.

While concluding the programme, District Coordinator MSK gave a vote of thanks to the participants and pledged to strengthen the voice of the voiceless community.
