Maiden enumeration of migratory tribal population starting in Rajouri from July 1

Rajouri: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan, who is also the Principal Census Officer today chaired a meeting with the concerned officers regarding the enumeration and survey of migratory tribal population of the district, which is starting from July 1, 2021.

Among the others, ADDC, Pawan Kumar; ADC Rajouri, Sachin Dev Singh; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; ADC Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar Behnal; ADC Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Sambayal; ADC Kalakote, Krishan Lal; ADC Koteranka, Surinder Mohan Sharma; ACR, Tahir Mustafa Malik; AC Defence, Saleem Qureshi; DFO Nowshera, Suresh Manda, DSEO, Bilal Rashid Mir, DSHO Sarfaraz Hussain, CAHO, CAO DRDA Shabana Azmin, DFO Naveed Mirza, DPO Rashid Kohli, BDO Chandarkant Bhagat, Dr. Anum Mirza Women Welfare Officer, Rakesh Kumar Officiating CEO, Tehsildars (All) besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.

The Deputy Commissioner said that common formats devised for the survey includes details related to migration route, family particulars, educational status, health and animal husbandry facilities, Livelihood and skilling requirement among other parameters. He also informed that Additional District Development Commissioner has been nominated as District Nodal Officer for the Survey and District Sts. & Evaluation Officer as Coordinating Officer, who shall also organise Trainings for the staff being engaged and conduct IEC Activities.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that based on the survey a range of different facilities will be provided by the department which include transit facilities, livestock services, healthcare, education, Livelihood initiatives, essential services and infrastructure.

The Deputy Commissioner apprised that on completion of family the process of digitisation and smart card with complete family details will be initiated. The smart cards will serve multiple purposes for a range of facilities to be extended to the tribal migratory population.

“The Tribal Affairs Department will provide assistance to migratory nomadic families under various schemes and the plan also includes capacity building of the nomadic population”, the Deputy Commissioner added.

“Special Tehsil level committees have been constituted and Tehsildars concerned have been designated as the nodal officer for enumeration and survey of migratory tribal population of the district. Education, Forest, RDD and Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department will assist the Revenue Department in the process of collection of required data “, the Deputy Commissioner informed. He also asked the concerned officers to take full assistance of the PRI members in this regard.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the survey would start from July 1 this year and special training sessions would be organised for the staff engaged in this data collection process.

The Addl. District Development Commissioner Pawan Kumar, who is also Nodal Officer Tribal Survey* asked the concerned officers to put in place added efforts to ensure that the whole data collection exercise as per the format is completed by 21st of July so that the same can be submitted to the higher authorities for necessary action at their end.

District Sts. & Evaluation Officer, Rajouri Bilal Rashid, who is also Deputy Census officer, elaborated the Formats during the meeting and the details need to be captured during the Survey. He also threw light on the Focus areas, to be kept under consideration during the Survey and also sought the detail of Employees from Concerned Departments who shall work as Enumerators and Supervisor to create a database for their Trainings & providing of Logistics.
