Major research grant to AMU teacher

 

ALIGARH : Dr Noora Abdul Kader, Department of Education, Aligarh Muslim University has been awarded a major research project titled, “Exploring the Influence of celebrity obsession on psychological well-being, multiple screen addiction and body image dissatisfaction among adolescents” from the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi. The project includes a sanctioned grant-in-aid of Rs 10 lakh.

Dr Kader said that the study bears much relevance in the present scenario as adolescents have an obsessive fascination with celebrities and it relates to various mental health issues and problematic internet use. The study further enhances the understanding of the psychological difficulties related to celebrity obsession and helps stakeholders of education to get a comprehensive idea of the nature of this alarming situation.
