Manav Rachna celebrates Yoga with experts from Isha Foundation and Brahma Kumaris; Sh. Biplab Kumar Deb, Haryana Prabhari, BJP joined as Chief Guest
Department of Students Welfare and and Centre for Yoga, Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) joined hands with the Ministry of Ayush, Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia, ISHA Foundation, and Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, to commemorate the International Yoga Day 2023.
The event was livened up with the presence of distinguished guests, including Sh. Biplab Kumar Deb, Haryana Prabhari, BJP, and Former Chief Minister of Tripura as the Chief Guest; Sh. Gopal Sharma, District President, Faridabad; Shri Ravindra Raju, State General Secretary Org, BJP Haryana; Smt. Seema Trikha, MLA, Badhkal Constituency; Dr. D.C Chaudhary, Former District Project Officer Education; Mr. Rajeev Kalra, Hatha Yoga Trainer, ISHA Foundation; Brahma Kumaris Jyoti, Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya; and Dr. Sanjay Srivastava, Vice Chancellor, MRIIRS, along with senior functionaries of the University.
The event commenced with a warm and heartfelt welcome extended to the esteemed guests, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp and seeking blessings from Goddess Saraswati. The lamp lighting ceremony was accompanied by a soulful rendition of the Saraswati Vandana by the Music Society of MRIIRS, known as “Surtarang.”
Dr. Sanjay Srivastava, Vice Chancellor of MRIIRS emphasized the utmost significance of yoga in promoting overall well-being, encompassing both the physical and mental realms. Dr. Srivastava highlighted yoga’s exceptional capacity to cultivate harmony, balance, and inner serenity, urging all attendees to wholeheartedly embrace yoga as a way of life and unlock its extraordinary benefits.
During the session, Chief Guest, Sh. Biplab Kumar Deb, accompanied by senior functionaries, actively engaged in the yoga practice and participated in the chanting of sacred mantras. This interactive session vividly demonstrated the profound significance of yoga in nurturing a healthier and more connected community.
The event also included a captivating yoga session conducted by Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Professor of Practice at the Centre for Yoga, MRIIRS. Dr. Kumar focused on chanting sacred syllables like Gayatri Mantra, Maha Mrityunjaya mantra, and Durga Mantra, combined with conscious breathing and meditative focus. Participants were guided to cultivate spiritual energy and attain a state of enlightenment.
Dr. G.L Khanna, Pro Vice Chancellor, MRIIRS presented a comprehensive report on the initiatives taken by the institute to encourage the practice of yoga and the facilities provided for the same. The report highlighted the annual celebration of International Yoga Day, certification courses in collaboration with Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, Yoga Mahotsav in association with Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga and Ministry of AYUSH, and ongoing research projects on yoga’s validation and standardization.
Sh. Biplab Kumar Deb shared the significance of yoga as an ancient practice which is helpful in treating various ailments and maintaining a better social, emotional and physical state. He enlightened participants on numerous initiatives taken by the Government of India and the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modi. He also interacted with the students and faculty members.
A Rajyoga Meditation Session was conducted by Brahma Kumaris Jyoti, Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya. Through the session, the participants delved into the principles and practice of Rajyoga, which focuses on connecting the mind with the divine source of energy.
A yoga practice session was conducted by Mr. Rajeev Kalra, Hatha Yoga Trainer, ISHA Foundation. He provided step-by-step instructions and demonstrations of various Hatha Yoga postures and breathing techniques. The session focused on the integration of body, mind, and breath, aiming to enhance flexibility, strength, and overall well-being.
Dr. D.C Chaudhary, Former District Project Officer of Education conducted a session on Hasta Mudra Yog. He shared his valuable expertise and insights into the practice of Hasta Mudra Yog involving the use of hand gestures to channelize positive energy, and explained different hasta mudras with their therapeutic benefits.
The common Yoga Protocol Programme has been run by Radio Manav Rachna 107.8 FM.
The International Yoga Day 2023 celebration at MRIIRS reverberated positivity & serenity while promoting the holistic benefits of yoga and emphasizing its role in fostering physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
