Manipur: Schools reopen after two months of violence

In Manipur, normal classes for classes one to eight resumed today. The schools have been closed down since the communal clash began in the State on third of May.

Manipur has more than four thousand six hundred schools and physical classes could not be conducted in around a hundred schools as these schools are engaged in relief measures. The Directorate of Education (S) Manipur has decided to issue a separate order for the opening of these schools after alternative arrangements are made either by shifting the students or shifting the relief camps.

The Chief Minister of Manipur N. Biren Singh has already announced that the normal classes for classes XI to XII will also be resumed at the earliest.
