Mannheim Opportunity Scholarship Holders Receive Laptop Donations
In today’s digital age, studying without a laptop is no longer possible. But electronic devices are not affordable for all students. Some students at the University of Mannheim also rely on rental devices. However, waiting times and return periods for loans represent additional pressure for students in their studies. “That is why Mannheimer Versicherung AG has decided to donate laptops in order to give students more digital security and to increase the chances that they successfully complete their studies,” says Alf N. Schlegel, member of the board of trustees of the University of Mannheim Foundation (board of Mannheimer Versicherung AG).
The donation is being overseen by Sabrina Scherbarth, the honorary managing director of the University of Mannheim Foundation. “I am pleased about the donation from Mannheimer Versicherung AG and would like to thank you very much on behalf of the students,” says Scherbarth. It makes the laptops available to Mannheim Opportunity Scholarship holders who do not have their own device, as required and tested.
Since 2018, the University of Mannheim Foundation has been supporting students who find themselves in an emergency situation with the Mannheim Opportunity Scholarship so that they can successfully complete their studies.
