Marico Innovation Foundation invites world audiences for the first time ever for “Innovation for India Awards” event
Marico Innovation Foundation (MIF), the not-for-profit arm of Marico Limited, today announced that it will be hosting its industry-recognized ‘Innovations for India Awards’ ceremony virtually for the first time. Usually hosted as a by-invite exclusive ceremony, in its 8th edition scheduled on 9th October 2020, Marico Innovation Foundation will harness the power of digital and convert the commemorative event into an inspiring digital event that celebrates Indian innovation and brings Indian ingenuity to the centerstage. This will be the first edition of the awards since its inception in 2003, wherein audiences worldwide will have a chance to attend this exclusive event and witness the winning innovations share their stories.
As one of their flagship programs, ‘Innovation for India Awards’ is an industry-recognized, prestigious platform for identifying and showcasing Indian innovations. Over the years, this platform has been known to unearth the ‘next-big innovations’ way before their time, making MIF a pioneer in supporting and scaling unheralded innovations that create large scale impact. Since 2006, Marico Innovation Foundation has showcased 60 select innovations.
Inviting people to register for this digital event, Mr. Harsh Mariwala, Founder of Marico Innovation Foundation and Chairman of Marico Limited said, “The new normal has proven the adage innovate or perish, revealing just how critical innovation will be as we move forward. This year MIF has handpicked a highly diverse set of winners that have impressive, novel, real innovations solving real grassroot challenges. “In this edition, we have identified a highly diverse set of winners spanning across healthcare, robotics, sports and education. This is the first time that we are opening our doors to guests beyond the curated guest list and encourage you to register and witness first-hand the innovations in-action, albeit virtually!” added Priya Kapadia, Head of Marico Innovation Foundation while throwing more light on the kind of innovations that have been recognized in the 8th edition of the awards program.
Boston Consulting Group Pvt. Ltd. India played the role of Advisors & the Jury panel comprised an eclectic mix of industry leaders from the corporate, investment, and social sectors. The resultant is the selection of six path-breaking Indian innovations which include: a robotics innovation for manual scavengers, 2 frugal but cutting-edge medical innovations, a sports organization instilling national pride, a past Award winner turns Global Game Changer, and a special mention for an innovative pedagogy for impact creators.
