Market checking intensified ahead of Eid-ul-Adha in Ganderbal

Ganderbal: Following the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal, the enforcement wing of FCS and CA along with Revenue, Police, FSO and Legal Metrology department conducted joint inspection of various markets across the district.
The joint inspection was conducted to check the rates of various essential commodities especially mutton rates, which have seen unprecedented but artificial rise recently, besides maintaining hygiene and physical distance was strongly ensured.
Two FIRs were also lodged against erring butcher’s for selling mutton on exorbitant rates, fines were collected from erring shopkeepers and adherence to sale and distribution protocol under Covid-19 response framework was enjoined upon all.
Rotten and unhygienic food items was destroyed on the spot,Such measures from the administration are driven by the fact that these will deter unscrupulous elements from exploiting the situation.
