Marwadi University concludes MU Fest 2022 showcasing student talent

 

New Delhi: Known for its vibrant campus life, Marwadi University recently concluded the 2022 edition of its annual student extravaganza, MU Fest 2022, for the first time post-pandemic. The two-day fest took was an opportunity for students to exhibit the technical and non-technical skills of over 4,000 students in 43 student-centric competitions including RoboComp, GoDrone, Technical or IT Quiz, Streaking, Incredible Explorers and Tech Jumanji and Banging Beats, Singing, Agar Art, Mono Act, Squid Games, LAN Gaming and IPL Auction.

 

The valediction ceremony saw the presence of Chief Guest Arun Mahesh Babu, M.S., IAS, District Collector, Rajkot; and Guest of Honor Vikrambhai Sangani, Joint Managing Director/Founder, Ace Software Exports Ltd.

 

MU Fest was organized under the leadership of Dr. R. Sridaran, Dean, Faculty of Computer Applications & team, with the support of 500+ student volunteers. Close to 400 winners across categories were awarded trophies, certificates and cash prizes totaling Rs 3,00,000. Provost, Marwadi University, Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Sancheti added that, “I appreciate the efforts taken by the Faculty of Computer Applications for the MU Fest 2022 and boosting the morale of students.”

 

One of the notable competitions included, Godrone 2022 in which, a drone racing challenge was devised in order to compete in an obstacle course. A Dji Tell drone was pre- pre-programmed in python and controlled using a smartphone. The fest comes at a time when science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM)-related job roles have been increasing steadily in the country. According to a job site, STEM jobs increased 44% between November 2016 and November 2019, and fests like MU’s are key to boosting students’ learning via healthy competition.

 

The fest came to a close with MU’s international students beautifully singing Vande Mataram and Hon’ble District Collector’s words: “India is presently having a very good startup ecosystem. I would urge all the youngsters to become a part of the young start-up ecosystem. We all are looking forward for young ideas, young brains coming into the country because you are the people who are going to create the future of this country.”
