Marwadi University granted Centre of Excellence status by Gujarat Government

New Delhi: Marwadi University (MU), was officially granted the Gujarat State Government’s prestigious Centre of Excellence (CoE) status by the Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel in the presence of Minister of Education Shri Jitubhai Vaghani, Higher and Technical Education – Gujarat, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Education & Skill Development and Entrepreneurship – India, Shri Kuberbhai Dindor, Minister of State, Higher and Technical Education, Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs – Gujarat, Shri Kirtisinh Vaghela, Minister of State, Primary, Secondary and Adult Education – Gujarat, Shri Brijesh Mirza, Panchayat Minister, Minister of State – Gujarat along with Shri S. J. Haider, IAS Principal Secretary (Higher & Technical Education) & Shri M. Nagarajan, Commissioner Higher Education & Shri G T Pandya, Director Technical Education, in a felicitation ceremony at the International Conference for Academic Institutions (ICAI) 2022 in Ahmedabad.

 

The event was organized by the Education Department, the Government of Gujarat, and globally renowned universities under the aegis of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2022. The status comes as a recognition of MU’s unwavering commitment to innovative learning and practice. The University was assessed by an expert committee on 9 core parameters: infrastructure, students, academics, examination, faculty, research, consultancy and extension services, governance, and overall performance. Marwadi University strives to offer the best in class education, industry-academia connection, and global knowledge exposure, with an intense focus on developing the next generation of future leaders across multiple disciplines.

 

Marwadi University is not just the only institution from Rajkot and the entire Saurashtra region to receive CoE status, but also the youngest and fastest-growing among all beneficiary universities. Spread across a 50-acre campus, MU is already home to more than 10000 students from 40 countries, enrolled in UG and PG programs taught by 500+ advanced educators that include 110+ PhD faculty.

The CoE status for MU furthers the Government of Gujarat’s vision for research, innovation, and the culture for creating start-ups in the state.
