Marwadi University hosts Faculty Development Programme in collaboration with ATAL (AICTE Training and Learning Academy)

New Delhi : Marwadi University, in collaboration with the AICTE Training and Learning Academy (ATAL), virtually launched the first phase of the week-long, Faculty Development Programme (FDP). The inauguration was graced by Hon’ble Education Minister Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, and driven by the Faculty of Management, Marwadi University, headed by Programme Chair and Dean, Dr. Sunil Jakhoria. More than 200 faculty have already signed up for the FDP from leading institutions across India. The current FDP will host more than 14 eminent speakers from diverse fields share their insights on the ‘Role of Social Enterprises in Self–Reliant India’.

The FDP aims to train faculty across disciplines, on the introduction of, Social Enterprise Management, to foster a collective consciousness, towards the opportunities and challenges on the road to a more self-reliant India. The focus will be on key development sectors including but not limited to Agriculture, Energy, Healthcare, Tourism, Financial Inclusion, Rural Development, Sanitation, and Water, among others. Fifteen FDP’s have already been developed by AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy, all available online.

Prof. (Dr) Sandeep Sancheti, Provost – Marwadi University, expressing his views on FDP said, “I am extremely happy to see the huge response and enthusiasm for the programme. Such initiatives strengthen the professional development of the faculty members and administrators who deal directly with students. It till no doubt help educators increase the effectiveness of their teaching, especially in the face of unprecedented changes faced by the academic world across the globe.”

Underpinning its commitment to professionalizing its own faculty, Marwadi University had earlier successfully conducted a teacher training program, for more than a 1000 teachers from leading universities and high schools in Indonesia. The university in 2020 had also initiated teacher training for its own faculty, by enrolling them in up-skilling certification courses undertaken from IIT Bombay, The University of New South Wales, Coursera, IUCEE and the University of California (Division of Continuing Education).
