Mason Consolidates Loudoun Instructional Site Programs to Fairfax and Mason Square for Enhanced Efficiency
The courses offered from the College of Education and Human Development, College of Engineering and Computing, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Costello College of Business in Loudoun will continue to also be available in-person at the Fairfax Campus and online. Mason’s Continuing Professional Education resources will be relocated to Mason Square, and Osher Lifelong Learning Institute programs will be offered at alternative locations in Loudoun and Fairfax. Faculty currently teaching graduate-level courses in Loudoun will move their classes to Fairfax or Fuse at Mason Square, which starts a phased opening later this year. The Loudoun instructional site at Signal Hill will be closed as of June 1, 2024.
Since 2006, Mason has offered limited in-person educational opportunities to Loudoun-area residents. Mason’s site became a co-location with NOVA in 2014, supporting student transfer pathways between NOVA and Mason through the ADVANCE Program. Mason subleases the current space from the community college, which is consolidating their programs on to the NOVA Loudoun Campus.
Loudoun area residents have access to Mason Online’s robust course offerings, which is ranked 3rd among all public universities for online master’s programs.
There are no current plans for the Mason-owned Loudoun property near the Silver Line in Ashburn.
