Mass Awareness Campaign for Large-Scale Dissemination of Climate Resilient Technologies and Methods observed at AMU

 

Aligarh : A “Mass Awareness Campaign for Large-Scale Dissemination of Climate Resilient Technologies and Methods” addressed by the Prime Minister of India , Shri Narendra Modi was attended by the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University on September 28, 2021, at 11.00AM via video conferencing

The programme was represented by Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, AMU through virtual mode under the supervision of Dean Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Prof Rais Ahmad, who welcomed all participants (teaching, non-teaching and farming community) during the virtual programme,

The Chairpersons of Department of Plant Protection Prof P Q Rizvi, Home Science Prof Farzana Alim and Coordinator BSc Agriculture Prof Iqbal Ahmad were some of the prominent attendees of the program. More than 100 farmers from Aligarh district along with teaching faculty, students and nonteaching staff watched the programme in the smart class room (Examination Hall) and all benefited from the address.

The Dean also attended the Vice Chancellors Conference and also displayed AMU’s twitter statement “ICAR Accreditation confers AU’s leadership, effectiveness and sustainability capabilities”.

Before the address of the Prime Minister, the Faculty of Agriculture Sciences also arranged lectures on the topics; Overview of Climate Resilient Agriculture by Prof P Q Rizvi. ; Importance of Crop Pollinators in Resilient Agriculture by Dr Syed Kamran Ahmad; Integrated Pest / Disease Management in Resilient Agriculture by Dr Ziaul Haque ; Drought Tolerance Crop Varieties by Dr Majhrool Hak Ansari ; Water Management in Resilient Agriculture by Dr Faheem Ahamad ; Residue Management in Resilient Agriculture by Dr Rizwan A Ansari .

At the culmination of the programme, vote of thanks was placed by Dr Zeba Khan
