Master Plans of cities should be reviewed-Minister Shri Bhupendra Singh
Bhopal : Master plans should be reviewed as per the prescribed provisions. If needed, services of expert agency could be taken in this connection. The Minister for Urban Development and Housing Shri Bhupendra Singh gave these instructions while reviewing the activities of the Directorate of Town and Country Planning.
The Minister Shri Singh that many cities have been expanded so much that the agricultural land prescribed in the master plan has come inside the cities. He said that farmers do not get benefit due to non-diversion of this land. Shri Singh further mentioned that review of master plans will help farmers to get benefit. He said that a separate policy should also be made as regard to the use of agriculture land, so that farmers could derive benefit. It was informed in the meeting that claims and objections for Bhopal Master Plan have been invited by August 9, 2020.

Reviews preparations for election
The Minister for Urban Development and Housing Shri Bhupendra Singh reviewed preparations pertaining to general elections of urban bodies. He said that along with the old urban bodies, work for delimitation and reservation of wards should be done within the stipulated time.
The Minister Shri Singh said that a plan should be made to enhance the income of urban bodies. It is essential to make the bodies self-reliant. While lauding the provisions of land pooling, he said that this should be implemented in a better manner.
Online information about land use
The Commissioner Town & Country Planning Shri Ajit Kumar informed that information about land use and development permission is being given online through web based application ALPASS in Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior and Jabalpur. In other 16 cities of the state, certificate of land use is being given online. GIS based development plan is being made, he added.
The Principal Secretary Urban Development and Housing Shri Nitesh Vyas, Commissioner Urban Administration and Development Shri Nikunj Kumar Shrivastava and other officers were present at the meeting.
