Masters’ Union to host a 3 day ‘Startup Weekend’ at its Gurugram campus
Gurugram : Masters’ Union School of Business, the tech focused B school is all set to host a 3 day startup weekend at its Gurugram campus between April 01 to 03, 2022. Aimed at encouraging ideation and promoting entrepreneurship, the event will require participants to ideate a tech driven startup in fintech, agritech, edtech or heath-tech while staying at the campus throughout the event (for 3 days). The winning team gets an equity-free grant up to INR 10 lakhs for their idea. The event is open to students pursuing UG degrees, B school students or any startup enthusiast. Masters’ Union will take care of the logistic requirements of the participants.
A total of 80 participants will work in a team of 4, which will be formed on the spot. As part of the event, submission of teams, ideas, versions of the pitch deck, versions of the prototype would take place over the span of 3 days. The event will also consist of fireside chats, panel discussions with VCs, angel investors and incubators such as Shreyasi Singh (Founder and CEO, Harappa), Ankit Prasad (Founder & CEO, Bobble AI), Vikas Kuthiala (Angel, Investor | Mentor), Nikhil Tripathi (Co-founder, Bijak), Sorabh Bajaj (Associate Director, Harappa Education), Rishi Mohan Bhatnagar (President, Aeris Communications; Former Global Head, Digital Enterprise) Surendu Korgaokar (VP, Agrowave) Amit Kapoor (Co-founder, Eupheus) to name a few.
The event will be sponsored by AWS, GitHub and Uizard. The top 5 teams will get an opportunity to apply for their Activate Portfolio Program. AWS Activate Portfolio is designed to help startups build, grow and scale their business with free tools, resources, and expert support. In addition to that, Masters’ Union will also give scholarships up to 50% to the top 10 teams. The scholarship could be used to enroll in their product management boot camp, which is a 200 hour hybrid program taught by highly rated product management instructors from Amazon, Uber, Google.

The event will be hosted by Masters’ Union Innovation Lab, a society that aims to drive ideation and nurture startups within and outside campus. MUIL is created to provide training, networking opportunities and insights to help entrepreneurs foster formation, improvement and execution of their startup ideas.
