Maths Lab Inauguration, ‘National Sports Day’ celebrations at Ahmadi School
Aligarh : Students of the Ahmadi School for the Visually Challenged, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will now exhibit relatedness of mathematical concepts with everyday life in a new state-of-art Mathematics Laboratory which was inaugurated recently at the school.
Launching the lab, Prof Asfar Ali Khan (Director Directorate of School Education) said that the facility will provide a greater scope for individual participation in the process of learning. It will help students to build interest and confidence in learning the subject.
“The mathematics lab is equipped with latest specialised equipment providing a learning platform with a further competitive, active and busy atmosphere”, he said at the ceremonial ribbon-cutting for the lab inauguration.
Meanwhile, Prof Asfar also attended the ‘National Sports Day’ celebrations of the school, marked by various sports events.
In the day-long ‘Visually Impaired Football Training’ programme at the Ahmadi School to celebrate the ‘National Sports Day’, Alok Kumar Singh (Hindi Sparsh Government Visually Impaired Girls Inter College, Lucknow) presented a specially designed football for differently able school students.
Alok Kumar with Prof Asfar Ali Khan, Dr Naila Rashid (School Principal) and students and staff of the school later planted tree saplings.
Students in a choir led by music teacher, Sirajuddin Sheikh also sang patriotic songs.
