MBBS at JIPMER: Apply from March 7
Puducherry: Jawaharlal Institute Of Post-Graduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER), Dhanvantri Nagar, Puducherry-605 006, an Institution of National Importance under Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India has invited applications for admission to M.B.B.S. course, July 2016 session, starting on 1st July 2016 at the Puducherry and Karaikal Campuses.
Eligibility
Applicant should be Indian Nationals / Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) and must have passed / appeared for HSC (10+2) examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology & English/Equivalent.
Applicant should have completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or should complete the age on or before 31st December 2016. Applicant should have been born on or before 01.01.2000.
There are 150 seats at the Puducherry campus. They are distributed as follows. UR-50, OBC-28, SC-16, ST-11, Puducherry Residents–40 (PUR-23, POBC-11, P-SC-6), NRI/OCI – 5 (Under Self Finance Scheme)
There are 50 seats for JIPMER Campus Karaikal which are distributed as, UR-15, OBC-10, SC-6, ST-4, Puducherry Residents–14 (PUR-7,POBC-5,P-SC-2), NRI/OCI – 1 (Under Self Finance Scheme).
Entrance Exam
There will be a Common Entrance Examination for the 200 seats which will be an on-line based distributed object system exam of 150 minutes duration to be held from 10 am to 12.30 pm on 05.06.2016 (Sunday) in a single shift.
The Entrance Test will be held at Agarthala, Aizwal, Ambala, Amritsar, Asansol, Belgaum, Bengaluru, Bhatinda, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Bishnupur, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi NCR, Dibrugarh, Durgapur, Faridabad, Gandhi Nagar, Ghaziabad, GreaterNoida, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Guntur, Gwalior, Hissar, Hooghly, Howrah, Hyderabad, Imphal, Indore, Jabalpur, Jalandhar, Jamshedpur, Kalyani, Kannur, Karimnagar, Kolkata, Kottayam, Kurnool, Kurukshetra, Lucknow, Madurai, Mangalore, Mathura, Meerut, Mohali, Mumbai, Mysore, Nagercoil, Nagpur, Namakkal, Patiala, Puducherry, Rajahmundry, Ranchi, Salem, Sangrur, Siliguri, Sonipat, Shimoga, Tezpur, Thiruvannamalai, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Trichy, Trissur, Trivandrum, Vijayawada, Visakhapatinam, Vizianagaram, Warrangal and Yamunanagar
How to apply
Application Fee for General (UR)/OBC/NRI/OCI will be Rs.1000/-. For SC/ST, it is Rs. 800/- OPH applicants are exempted from Application Fee. Applications can be submitted through On-line Registration with payment through Net Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card only. Online Registration will be available from 11 am on 07.03.2016 (Monday) to 5 pm on 04.05.2016 (Wednesday).
The expected time and date of publication of Merit List is 9 pm on 13.06.2016 (Monday).
Counseling for exercise of option for JIPMER Puducherry / Karaikal will be from 20.06.2016 to 22.06.2016. The course commences at 10 am on 01.07.2016 (Friday). Admission closes at 5 pm on 30.09.2016 (Wednesday).
