MCU Vice Chancellor Prof. KG Suresh meets Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar Apprises him about activities of the university

New Delhi: Makhanlal Chaturvedi University of Journalism and Communication  called on the Vice-President and the Visitor of the University, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar in New Delhi. In the meeting held at the Vice-President’s residence, Prof. Suresh apprised the vice president about the activities of the university. It is noteworthy that the  Vice-President of the country is  the Visitor of Makhanlal Chaturvedi  National University of Journalism and Communication, which has the distinction of being the first journalism university in Asia.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Suresh informed the Visitor and Vice-President about the  state of the art new  campus of the University   built on fifty acres at Bishankhedi near Bhopal and the university ‘s plan to shift to the new campus very soon. He informed that the new campus  has an  academic building, administrative building, spacious auditorium , canteen, housing facility for employees, officers, teachers as well as seperate hostels for girls and boys. Prof. Suresh informed the Vice  President that this year even more students have taken admission as compared to last year. It is worth mentioning that last year one lakh three thousand students had taken admission in the university.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Suresh also shared with the Vice-President information regarding the  new courses started by the University last year  under the National Education Policy . He said that  it is the first university in the country as well as in the state to start course in journalism    and  also the first to  adopt the National Education Policy . Along with this, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Suresh imformed that the  Journalism University has  been included in the list of  India Today’s Top-10 , the first Hindi journalism institute in the country to be included in this list. The Week has also included the name of Journalism University in its list.
Prof. Suresh informed the Vice-President, about three-day National Film Festival  organised in the new campus of the University in Bishankhedi this year,  in which eminent actors, producers, directors, artists of the country participated. The department of Cinema Studies was also formed after the grand success of the film festival. The Visitor of the University and Vice-President of the country, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar expressed his appreciation and happiness over the achievements of the University. He  congratulated Prof KG Suresh for the achievements, and gave his best wishes for the progress of the university. He also urged the vice chancellor to provide more information related to it.
