MDI Gurgaon Hosts Conference on Future Roadmap of Financial Services Sector for a Viksit Bharat, in Collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, Government of India
Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon in collaboration with the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, GOI organized a conference on the Role & Future road map of the Financial Services Sector for a Viksit Bharat at MDI Gurgaon on May 4, 2024. The objective of the conference was to provide a platform to stakeholders to deliberate on the landscape of banking, insurance and social security and their role in attaining the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047.
Viksit Bharat @ 2047 envisions making India a developed nation by 2047, the 100th year of independence. The vision encompasses various aspects of development, including economic growth, social progress, environmental sustainability, and good governance.
The conference witnessed the participation of the officials of DFS, and financial sector regulators, viz. RBI and IRDAI, IBBI and industry experts including Chairpersons, Managing Directors & Chief Executive Officers of Public Sector Banks, Financial Institutions, Insurance Companies and other top management functionaries of leading private banks, NBFCs, Small Finance Banks and faculty members from MDI, Gurgaon. During the plenary session, valuable insights were shared by Secretary DFS, Chairman IBBI, Chairman IRDAI and Deputy Governor, RBI.
The conference sessions focused on different far-reaching themes, such as Responsible Lending by Banks/FIs towards Viksit Bharat, Banking to the mass affluent and bottom of the pyramid, and Social Security for a developed India.
The conference witnessed intense deliberations and insights shared by industry experts, policymakers, regulators, and academicians. The deliberations will serve as a strategic input to facilitate an informed stride towards a more robust financial services ecosystem that becomes a key pillar of Viksit Bharat.
