Medal winning AMU Students Felicitated

Aligarh : Prof Asfar Ali Khan, Director, School Education, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) felicitated the students of AMU Schools who participated in different national and state level sports events and brought laurels to their alma mater by winning medals in their respective categories.

Addressing the special ceremony held at the Directorate of School Education, AMU, Prof Asfar Ali Khan said, “It’s an honour and matter of pride to take part in national sports events and win medals. I congratulate the students and wish them good luck”.

He further added the students’ success will motivate others also.

The students who were felicitated include Mehvish, a student of AMU City Girls High School, Gold Medalist in the National Arms Wrestling Championship, Anjal Baghel (AMU ABK High School Girls) 3rd place holder in 60 meter race during the 55th UP State Annual Athletic Championship, Abeera Rizwan (Senior Secondary School Girls) participant of the 50th Senior Women’s National Handball Championship, Yusra Iram (AMU Girls School), Aliya Rashid (Senior Secondary School Girls), Zoha Nadeem (AMU ABK High School Girls), and Sadiya Ali (AMU ABK High School Girls) participants of the 37th National Junior Women’s Handball Championship, Rabia (Senior Secondary School Girls) participant of UP Women’s Hockey Championship, Abhinay Dhargarh (STS School) participant of the UP State Junior Athletics Championship, Gunjan Gautam (AMU ABK High School Girls) participant of the Junior State Athletics Championship, and Mohd. Junaid (AMU ABK School Boys), participant of the State Athletics Championship.

Mr. Shamshad Nisar, the sports teacher of AMU ABK High School Girls was also felicitated for winning Gold Medal and Silver Medal in the 200 and 400 meter race respectively during the 31st UP State Masters Athletic Meet, held at Amethi. He conducted the proceedings of the felicitation ceremony.

Mr. Faisal Nafis, Principal, STS School, Mrs Naghma Irfan, Principal, Sr. Secondary School Girls, Mrs. Amna Malik, Principal, AMU Girls School, Dr. Samina, Principal, AMU ABK High School, Md. Alamgir, Principal, AMU City Girls High School, and Dr. Saba Hasan, Vice Principal, AMU ABK High School Girls were also present on the occasion.
