Medanta unveils the first edition of its annual women’s conclave – “Medanta Shakti’24”
Gurugram – As the world celebrates International Women’s Day, Medanta proudly announces the launch of its inaugural Annual Women’s Conclave, “Medanta Shakti’24”, to felicitate and celebrate women who have made significant strides in their respective fields, while also making substantial contributions to society. From community doctors to corporate leaders, influencers to educators, and grassroots activists to public servants, the conclave honoured about 35 women under 12 categories who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and excellence. Notable figures such as Smt. Madhu Azad, Gurugram Mayor, Dr. Rajashree, Inspector General, Gurugram, Anjali Gautam, Group Captain, Airforce, and Yashmeen Chauhan, Fitness celebrity were recognized for their remarkable achievements and inspiring leadership.
Among the distinguished guests and facilitators were eminent doctors from Medanta, including Dr Naresh Trehan, Dr Preeti Rastogi, Dr Neelam Mohan, Dr Sabhyata Gupta, Dr Sushila Kataria, Dr Kanchan Kaur, Dr Tejinder Kataria, Dr. Praveen Khilani and Dr. Rajiv Uttam. The event also included a dance performance, stand-up comedy, and a panel discussion on the – Impact of late marriages and career orientation on planning pregnancy.
Highlighting the pressing issue of late marriages and pregnancies, Dr Preeti Rastogi, Director, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Medanta, Gurugram, stated, “Approximately 10-15% of pregnancies or foetal growth are affected by late marriages or pregnancies. Nowadays, women are conceiving at an average age of 28-30 yrs. The reasons behind delayed pregnancies encompass various factors including delayed family planning, career commitments, economic instability, fertility issues, and individual choices. Furthermore, late pregnancies come with their set of complications, such as an increased risk of chromosomal abnormalities, pregnancy-related issues like gestational diabetes and preeclampsia, a higher likelihood of miscarriage or stillbirth, reduced fertility, and heightened risks during labour and delivery.”
