Medical Cannabis startup HempStreet announces partnership with Amrita School of Ayurveda

New Delhi : HempStreet, India’s first research to retail venture in the ayurvedic cannabis sector, has partnered with Amrita School of Ayurveda. Amrita School of Ayurveda, based in Kerala, was founded in 2004 and is a well-known Ayurvedic education facility both nationally and internationally. Through this collaboration, HempStreet aims to receive clinically supported solutions to aid in their fight against mass ailments.

HempStreet started with the vision to harness the power of ayurveda and utilize responsibly dispensed cannabis based medication to tackle chronic ailments. HempStreet’s partnership with Amrita School of Ayurveda is one step further to meet the nation’s needs of managing ailments through modern Ayurveda. Amrita School of Ayurveda, part of Amrita University,  is ranked fifth in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2021. Amrita School takes a unique approach to blending ancient philosophies and health science by cultivating a new breed of Ayurvedic physicians to fulfill the mission of creating a patient-centered and integrated health care delivery system.

Commenting on the partnership, Abhishek Mohan, Founder & CEO, HempStreet, said, “We are very excited to announce this partnership with Amrita School of Ayurveda and its affiliate R&D organizations to work towards clinical validation of formulations to address several mass ailments. This aligns with our policy of partnering with the best in class. With this partnership, we strive to further our mission to harness the power of Ayurveda via cannabis-based medication with a layer of clinical validation. This fits our global strategy of best-in-class partnerships across Europe, the US and Israel.”

Adding to this, Dr P. Ram Manohar, Head, Centre for Advanced Research In Ayurveda (ACARA), said, “We are thrilled to be collaborating with HempStreet. Our goal is to promote the expansion and advancement of Ayurvedic education, and working with HempStreet will help us close the knowledge gap between cutting-edge technological advancements and traditional medicine based on ancient wisdom. By bringing tradition and scientific research together, we can pave the way for contemporizing Ayurveda to meet global health care needs.”

HempStreet is poised to reshape the way mass ailments are addressed by raising awareness about the use of cannabis for pain management to address one of the health sector’s most pressing issues. The company recently collaborated with over 400 Ayurvedic doctors in Mumbai to bolster this. Furthermore, to strengthen the R&D and distribution segment, HempStreet also partnered with MGC Pharma and Gynica earlier this year.
