Medical College to be started in Morena: CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan

Bhopal : Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited Morena on Saturday with many gifts. He said that a medical college will be opened in Morena, while the best modern medical facilities will be made available in the entire district and Chambal project worth Rs. 135 crores will be given final shape for drinking water supply in Morena city. Along with this announcement, Shri Chouhan also announced the construction of a magnificent auditorium in the name of former Prime Minister Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Morena city and opening of a college at Rithoura in Morena district.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan along with Union Minister of Agriculture, Panchayati Raj and Rural Development, Shri Narendra Singh Tomar and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia dedicated and performed bhoomi poojan of 27 development works costing Rs 268 crore 59 lakh for the planned development of Morena city and rural. This includes the dedication of 8 development works costing Rs. 184 crore 60 lakhs and bhoomi pujan of development works costing nearly Rs. 84 crores. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also distributed assistance to about two dozen beneficiaries under various welfare schemes of the government.

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the central and state government together are writing a new chapter of development. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given possession of pucca houses to 1.75 lakh beneficiaries. This series of development will continue. He said that approval in-principle has been given to Chambal Atal Progress-Way project costing Rs 8 thousand 500 crore for the all-round development of Chambal region on the initiative of Union Minister Shri Tomar. Atal Progress-Way will not be just a road, it will have an industrial corridor on either side through which thousands of youth will get employment. He said that with the efforts of Union Minister Shri Tomar, Sainik School is going to open on the Bhind and Morena district border.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan reiterated that the state government is working with the basic mantra ‘Gharib ki Thali Kabhi Na Rahe Khali”. For this, the government will start distributing ration to the remaining poor families at the rate of Re one per kg through a massive campaign on September 16. He asked the public representatives and officials present in the programme to search for the remaining eligible families in the district so that no family remains deprived of the benefits of the scheme.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also said that the government is providing financial assistance of Rs 10 thousand each without interest to those working on the footpath such as cobblers (boot-polish), vegetable-fruit sellers, roadside barber shops, kachori-samosa sellers and other small-scale traders so as to enable them to do their business better. Shri Chouhan said that previous electricity bills have been postponed to reduce the burden of electricity bill.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the farmer-friendly government is in power in the state. The government is going to deposit Rs 4 thousand 600 crore of crop insurance in the accounts of 20 lakh 4 thousand farmers on September 18 this month. The government has purchased mustard, wheat etc. crops from farmers on support price.

Union Agriculture Minister, Shri Narendra Singh Tomar said that the central and state governments are working with full sincerity to redress people’s grievances and for the development of the state. New chapters are also adding on to the planned development of Morena district. He specifically mentioned the flyover bridge on the Agra-Mumbai National Highway, making Morena a Municipal Corporation from Municipality, construction of new Collectorate and Shaheed Bhavan, laying network of roads in every village, conversion of Ater to Sheopur Road into national highway, AMRUT Yojana to solve the drinking water problem in Morena city. Union Minister Shri Tomar urged Chief Minister Shri Chouhan for building a medical college and Atal Bihari Vajpayee auditorium in Morena, which the Chief Minister accepted with pleasure.

Rajya Sabha MP Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia said that Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has better work system to solve crisis and he is not only a true public servant but also has a development oriented thinking. This is the reason that he has granted Rs 101 crores for the development of Sitapur Industrial Area of ​​Morena in accordance with our expectations. Similarly, he has approved projects including the Rs 55 crore scheme at Piparseva, the new Collectorate building, the 50-bed Community Health Centre at Noorabad and the Chambal Project.

Former MLA Shri Raghuraj Singh Kanshana gave a welcome address on the occasion. He said that with the formation of the new government in the state 6 months ago, development has been accelerated in Morena. Shri Kanshana put forth the demand for various development works for the development of the area before the Chief Minister. Among those present in the programme were Minister of State for Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development, Shri Girraj Dandotia, former Minister Shri Rustom Singh Gurjar and Shri Munshilal, former MP Shri Ashok Argal, Chairman of the Administrative Committee of District Panchayat Smt. Geeta Harshana, former MLA Shri Shivmangal Singh Tomar, Shri Kamlesh Jatav, Shri Yogesh Pal Gupta and Shri Anil Goyal Alli besides other public representatives.
