Medical oxygen plant DH Ramban nearing completion; 2 more sanctioned for Banihal, Batote : DC

Ramban: Over 61 % targeted people have been vaccinated and over 1.25 Lakh Covid tests ( RT-PCR and RAT) have been conducted by the health workers in the district Ramban during the second wave of Covid 19.

The Medical oxygen plant at District Hospital Ramban is nearing completion, while 2 more plants have been sanctioned for Banihal, Batote.

The information was given by Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam while addressing media persons here today.

The DC informed that 61% age-appreciated persons have been vaccinated by conducting door to door and camp mode vaccination drives, while remaining 29144 will be vaccinated within the next 15 days.

The District Administration has also started implementation of all directions and announcements made by the Lt. Governor to provide Covid relief to construction workers and other weaker sections of the society to enable them to meet basic needs amid the lockdown.

The DC informed that the district has a stock of 702 D and B type medical oxygen cylinders out of which over 95% have been filled and empty cylinders are being filled from designated suppliers on a regular basis.

The DC said that civil and allied works for the medical oxygen gas plant in District Hospital have been completed and an oxygen generation machine will be installed soon. He further informed that two medical oxygen gas plants have also been sanctioned by the Government each one for Sub-District Hospital Banihal and CHC, Batote.

The DC informed that 532 bed capacity including 82 level 2 and 450 level 3 has been created in the district to facilitate Covid patients.

The DC informed that mopping of over 99% households have been completed through Swasthya Nidhi application under which various referrals have been recommended and concerned officers of Health Department are providing them all medical facilities including Covid Management Kits in health institutions and house isolation.

He appreciated the Vice-Chairperson, DDC Ramban, for extending helping hand by donating 300 medical oxygen cylinders to district administration including 100 for SDH Banihal and 50 each for Gool, Ukhral, Batote blocks and DH Ramban. He also appreciated the role of Corona Health Warriors, Front line Workers, PRIs, traders, NGOs especially the general masses in the fight against pandemic.

The DC informed that implementation of Corona curfew is being monitored by the senior officers of Civil and police administration and he also paid random visits in various blocks of district to review measures taken by the local administration to contain spread of Covid infection in their respective jurisdictions.
