Medicinal plants distributed

Aligarh : Saplings of Tejpatta, Stevia, Ashoka, Giloy, Ashwagandha, Lemongrass, Tulsi, Sarpagandha, Amla and other medicinal plants were distributed to the staff members of the University Polytechnic, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) by Prof Arshad Umar (Principal) as a part of the nation-wide Ayush Aapke Dwar campaign to observe the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

“Medicinal plants provide a major source of molecules with medicinal properties due to the presence of natural compounds. These plants are useful for curing many diseases and play an important role in healing due to presence of phytochemical constituents,” said Prof Arshad while appealing to the staff for planting the saplings in their gardens.
