Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the ISAA MSU
On October 29, 2020, the rector of Moscow University, academician V.A. Sadovnichy took part in a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Institute of Asian and African Countries at Moscow State University.
In his welcoming speech, V.A. Sadovnichy spoke about the Moscow State University Development Program until 2030, the creation of interdisciplinary scientific schools and other projects. The rector emphasized the need to preserve Russian classical oriental studies, which is based on the oriental school of ISAA MSU with its history and tradition, the importance of developing the Institute as a leading world scientific and educational center for oriental studies and African studies in an increasingly competitive environment.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ISAA MSU D.S. Peskov noted that the demand for specialists in the Afro-Asian region is growing in modern conditions, and the development strategy of the Institute should be based on conceptual changes in scientific and educational activities and have an applied component.
And about. Director of the Institute of Asian and African Countries I.I. Abylgaziev presented an information and statistical report on the activities of the Institute for the period 2016-2020, a draft of the ISAA Development Program until 2030, a preparation plan for the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the faculty, scheduled for May 2021.
The meeting was also attended by members of the Board of Trustees of the ISAA A.K. Volin, V.V. Zhirinovsky, M.V. Margelov, N.M. Mukhomedzhan, V.V. Naumkin, G.E. Ordzhonikidze, R.V. Trotsenko. The members of the Council discussed the current results and the main directions of development of ISAA MSU.
