The guest of the meeting, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Botany and Plant Physiology of the Institute of Biology, Ecology and Agrotechnology of PetrSU Kira Vladimirovna Morozova, presented to the audience the report “Aromatic Medicines”. The scientist accompanied her speech with information and illustrations with presentation material.

During the lesson, Kira Vladimirovna introduced the children to medicinal plants containing essential oils and used in folk and scientific medicine from ancient times to the present.

The guys were able to learn about new and unknown fragrant plants, as well as remember those that are found in the Arctic territories, including in their own regions.

The scientist told about each plant intelligibly and in maximum detail. As the teachers note, the topic “Fragrant herbs” became an excellent additional material and contributed to an increase in students’ interest in biology lessons. Many were interested in the question of training specialists who study plants and are engaged in scientific activities in the field of biology.
