Merlin Group Presents 2nd edition of “Merliner Sera Pujo Award”
Kolkata: Merlin Group, India’s leading real estate group, has presented the awards of the 2nd edition of Durga Puja award today at Princeton club. The award “Merliner Sera Pujo” as christened had been instituted in 2019 by Merlin Group to encourage the residents of different housing complexes to organize and celebrate Durga Puja with pomp and enthusiasm.
At a formal function, Mr. Saket Mohta, Managing Director, Merlin Group presented the awards to the winners in presence of singer and chief guest Soumitra Roy, founder member of popular bangla band Bhoomi. Merlin Maximus, the housing complex located in Sodepur had won the first prize of “Merliner Sera Pujo Award” while Merlin Sapphire, a housing complex located in Parnashree , Behala had won the 1st runner up trophy and certificate and plaque. Merlin Waterfront, a housing complex located in Howrah had won the 2nd runner up trophy, plque and certificate. Merlin also recognized other housing complexes for different categories. Merlin Grove and Merlin Warden Lakeview had won awards for Best decoration. Merlin Emerald and Merlin Uttara had won awards for Best Idol category. Merlin Legacy had bagged award for Best Thought category. Merlin Jabakusum had been recognized for their arrangement in “ Best Safety and Precautions” category.
While presenting the laurels, Saket Mohta, Managing Director, Merlin Group said, “We at Merlin instituted “Merliner Sera Pujo” award last year to enthuse our valued residents across Merlin Housing complexes in West Bengal to organize Durga Puja, the biggest celebration of Bengal in its right spirit. It feels great to have witnessed the happiness and enthusiasm of our valued residents in organizing Durga Puja with strict adherence of all protocols of Covid 19 this year. What is very inspiring is the bond and camaraderie among our valued residents who congregated to celebrate the Puja. I thank our esteemed Guest Shri Soumitra Roy for judging and gracing the occasion. We pledge to celebrate the initiative next year with grandeur next year and years to come as well”.
Durga Puja in Covid times had been celebrated with pomp and gaiety in Kolkata. Merlin Group had announced the second edition of “Merliner Sera Pujo Award” this year with adherence to all safety protocols and hygiene norms as per the Calcutta High Court verdict.
Ace singer Soumitra Roy, founder member of noted Bangla Band Bhoomi had engaged with the residents of Merlin Housing apartments across Kolkata, Hooghly and Howrah on Maha Saptami and Maha Ashtami while paying a visit to the Puja Idols. He played the traditional drummer and also crooned on request of Merlin residents. Actress Alivia Sarkar also visited different puja pandals in Merlin Housing apartments on Maha Navami.
Merlin Group had organized the second edition of “Merliner Sera Pujo” across 1700 apartments spanning in 12 Merlin Housing complexes. It touched over 7000 residents and their guests this year who offered the puja with the hope and faith in combating the Covid-19.
