MESC becomes an awarding body with NCVET to award NSQF aligned certificates in media and entertainment space globally

 

New Delhi: The Media and Entertainment Skills Council (MESC) has been granted recognition as an Awarding Body status by NCVET – National Council for Vocational and Educational Training, Government of India. Recently an agreement was signed between MESC and NCVET. Mr. Mohit Soni, CEO MESC and Mr. Santosh Kumar (Secretary, NCVET) signed the agreement in august presence of Dr. N S Kalsi Chairperson NCVET, Dr. Vinita Aggarwal (Executive member), Lt. Col Gunjan Choudhary, Director NCVET and other senior officials at the NCVET in New Delhi.

MESC as an awarding body is ready to cater the needs of skilling requirements for the Media and Entertainment Sector. In addition, to boost vocational education through the development of new vocational standards in the country. The collaboration will lead to the institutionalisation of media and entertainment-related Qualifications and job roles.

Mohit Soni, CEO, MESC said: “The implementation of the MoU will open a new chapter for vocational education in the country, promote the entry of Media and Entertainment vocational standards.

“As leaders in the media and entertainment skilling sector, we consider it our responsibility to foster an ecosystem for growth and adoption of vocational & skill education. MESC as an awarding body will pave the way for a series of professional courses for students and equip them with technical exposure of the media and entertainment industry. We are thankful to the NCVET for encouragement & we look forward to working to developing an ecosystem of practical knowledge, innovation and sustainability”, he added.

The joint venture will lead to holistic development of the skilling ecosystem and skilled manpower for media and entertainment sector through training and RPL, fresh skilling, re-skilling and up-skilling. Undertaking collaborative evidence-based policy research will help meet the industry requirements and the desired quality of training in line with international benchmark.
