Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment to inaugurate several new state-of-the-art Disability Rehabilitation Facilities tomorrow
A significant milestone in the realm of disability rehabilitation and special education will be marked, as several state-of-the-art facilities are set to be inaugurated across India. The Union Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment will inaugurate these facilities tomorrow in New Delhi. These initiatives, spearheaded by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities underscore the Government’s unwavering commitment to fostering inclusivity and empowerment for persons with disabilities.
Among the key highlights of the inauguration are:
1. Composite Regional Centre in Davangere, Karnataka: A pioneering venture under NIEPID, Secunderabad, which aims to serve as a beacon of hope for individuals with disabilities, offering comprehensive services across all 21 types of disabilities in a fully barrier-free environment.
2. Composite Regional Centres (CRCs) Buildings in Gorakhpur and Rajnandgaon: Constructed under the auspices of NIEPVD, Dehradun, and NIEPID, Secunderabad respectively, these buildings stand as symbols of progress, equipped with modern amenities and facilities to ensure accessibility and inclusivity.
3. Hostels of CRC Patna and CRC Guwahati: Providing much-needed accommodation solutions for students involved in rehabilitation education, these hostels, situated under NILD, Kolkata and SVNIRTAR, Cuttack respectively, contribute to foster a supportive learning environment.
4. Vocational Training Centre in Cuttack: This newly constructed state of the art centre located at SVNIRTAR, Cuttack, embodies the Government’s vision of empowering persons with disabilities by providing skill training courses aligned with the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF).
5. Stone Laying of Hydrotherapy Unit in Secunderabad: A collaborative effort between The Hans Foundation and NIEPID, this initiative aims to promote high-quality therapeutic intervention for individuals with various disabilities, signaling a new era of holistic care and support.
The inauguration ceremonies signify a significant step forward in the journey towards building an inclusive society where persons with disabilities are not only supported but empowered to thrive.
