Mission LiFE Seminar Promotes Eco-Friendly Lifestyle at AMU
Aligarh : The Electricity Department at Aligarh Muslim University organized a seminar, “Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment)”. Focusing on the G20 sub-theme of “Promoting Eco-Friendly Lifestyle,” the event has been endorsed by the university as part of its G20-themed series.
The Keynote speaker Mr. Yugal Kishore Joshi, Director Mission LiFE and Adviser SDG at NITI Ayog, Government of India talked about environment protection. He led important projects like Jal Jeevan Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission, earning the Prime Minister’s Award. He stressed personal behavior changes for Mission LiFE, a global effort led by India’s Prime Minister, focusing on eco-friendly living. Mr. Joshi motivated young people to adopt small changes for a big environmental impact. An author who hosts “Katha Purani Kahani Nai”, he also appreciated the efforts of AMU in making contributions towards green energy transition, energy efficiency and conservation in line with the spirit of mission LiFE.
Another speaker, Prof. Janakarajan Ramkumar from IIT Kanpur, talked about new ideas, solving problems, and eco-friendly progress. He stressed the need for new angles in solving sustainability challenges.
The seminar was attended by teachers and students from different departments. Mr. Anand Shukla, Chief Engineer of UP Power Corporation, was a special guest.
Prof. Mohd Rihan MIC Electricity in his address praised AMU administration support for caring about green energy and the environment which matches Mission LiFE’s and talked about IEEE and IET’s focus on sustainability. This seminar served as a proactive platform to promote an eco-conscious mindset and sustainable practices for mission of a greener planet.
The seminar featured a video presentation on “Green Energy Transition in India and the Success Story of AMU.” Dr. M. Ajmal Kafeel, AMIC Electricity, extended the vote of thanks, while Mr. Saad Shamim conducted the proceedings of the program.
