Mission Shakti SANKALP HEW JAMMU organises camp on health of pregnant and lactating mothers in Anganwadi Centre
JAMMU : Mission Shakti SANKALP HEW JAMMU Social Welfare Department J&K conducted an impactful awareness program at AWC NITCO Lane Talab Tillo which aimed at empowering women through education on nutrition of pregnant and lactating mothers the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY). The initiative focused on educating pregnant and lactating women about the critical importance of proper nutrition and adequate rest during pregnancy. Dr Nisha Dutt Gynecologist was the resource person of the awareness programme.
The program emphasized the pivotal role of a balanced diet and sufficient rest in maternal health, directly impacting the well-being of both mothers and infants. Doctor shared insights on the profound benefits of maintaining a nutritious diet throughout pregnancy and lactation phases.
Officials of Mission Shakti SANKALP HEW highlighted the positive impact of PMMVY, a scheme designed to support pregnant women financially. Beneficiaries of PMMVY expressed heartfelt gratitude, citing how the scheme enabled them to afford nutritious food and essential vitamins, contributing to a healthy pregnancy and safe delivery.
The event concluded with a commitment to continue supporting women in Jammu through similar informative sessions, aiming to enhance maternal health and well-being. At the end of the session Nutritional kits and baby kits were also distributed and various queries of pregnant women were also addressed.
