MIT-World Peace University Pune Opens Admissions for Pharmaceutical Sciences Programmes for the Academic Year 2023-24
Pune: MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU), Pune has announced the opening of admissions for Pharmaceutical Sciences programmes for the academic year 2023. Interested candidates who meet the educational qualification criteria can apply online at admissions.mitwpu.edu.in. The last date to apply for B.Pharm and Pharm.D through NEET is 26th May 2023 and for M.Pharm is 30 June 2023.
The university offers a range of specializations in the field of pharmaceutical sciences including B.Pharm, Pharm.D, M.Pharm Pharmaceutical Chemistry, M.Pharm Pharmaceutics, M.Pharm Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance, M.Pharm Pharmacology, M.Pharm Pharmacognosy, M.Pharm Pharmaceutical Analysis, Postgraduate Diploma in Regulatory Affairs (PGDRA), and Ph.D.
Students also get an option of a direct entry in the second year of the B.Pharm programme after a two-year Diploma in Pharmacy. The last date to apply for the direct entry programme is 20th June 2023.
MIT-WPU is equipped with advanced laboratories and is home to an Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring Center that is approved by the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission and PvPI, enabling research in drug development and pharmaceutical technology. The university offers attractive stipends for GPAT-qualified students. They are also encouraged to engage in practical projects and internships at local hospitals such as Vishwaraj, Lokmanya, Sahyadri, Ruby Hall Clinic, Jahangir, and Unity Medicare for developing clinical skills.
Students can take up a number of roles like production chemists, formulation chemists, medical representatives, hospital and community pharmacists, sales and distribution executives, drug regulators, medical insurance assessors, pharmaceutical sales consultants, pharmacoeconomic specialists, and more in a variety of fields like packaging, quality control and assurance, regulatory affairs, logistics and supply chain management, pharmacovigilance, data management, quality assurance, counselling, pharmaceutical manufacturing, e-pharmacy, drug distribution and more.
Eligibility:
Candidates who can apply to these programmes need to meet the eligibility criteria. The criterion for the various programmes is as follows-
- For pursuing B.Pharm applicants must have secured at least 60% aggregate in PCM/PCB in 10+2/Class 12th, with compulsory subjects including physics and chemistry, and either mathematics or biology. Equivalent scores in other qualifying examinations are also accepted, with a minimum of 55% marks for backward class category candidates belonging to Maharashtra. Additionally, a valid score in NEET 2023 / MHT-CET 2023 / JEE 2023 / PERA 2023 is required for consideration.
- For pursuing M.Pharm, the candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from an institution approved by the All India Council for Technical Education or Pharmacy Council of India or Central or State Government, with a minimum aggregate score of 60% (50% for the backward class category and persons with disability belonging to Maharashtra only). They must also be registered with the State Pharmacy Council, and if not, should produce the registration certificate within one month of securing admission. In addition, applicants must have obtained a valid score in the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) conducted by the National Testing Agency in 2021, 2022, or 2023. Sponsored candidates must possess a minimum of two years of full-time work experience in a registered firm/company/industry/educational and/or research institute/Government Department or Government Autonomous Organization in the relevant field for which admission is being sought.
- For pursuing PG Diploma in Regulatory Affairs, a candidate must have secured a minimum 50% aggregate score in 3/4-year graduation from UGC approved university or equivalent with Life Sciences as a subject & two years of relevant industry experience.
- For pursuing Pharm.D (Doctor of Pharmacy), candidates must have a minimum aggregate score of 60% in PCM/PCB in 10+2/Class 12th (with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with either Mathematics or Biology) or in an equivalent examination. However, for the backward class category candidates belonging to Maharashtra, a minimum of 55% marks is required. Additionally, candidates must have a valid score in NEET 2023 / MHT-CET 2023 / JEE 2023 / PERA 2023.
Selection Process:
B.Pharm
The selection process for B. Pharm is based on a valid score in NEET 2023 / MHT-CET 2023 or PERA 2023 and a Statement of Purpose (500 words) written by the student. Admission will be conducted solely on a merit basis through allotment round/s organized by the university as per the prescribed schedule.
M.Pharm
The selection process for M. Pharm is based on GPAT 2022/2023 score and MIT-WPU CET Personal Interaction.
PGDRA
The selection process for the PGDRA programme is based on MIT-WPU CET PI 2023 score:
